Labas/Veller Family


In 1926, Michel Labas, 1900-1941, the son of Mordkhel and Pere Labas, came to Kupiskis from  Kurkliuose, and married Hodel Veller, 1898-1941, from Kupiskis, the daughter of Zalman Veller, 1871-1941, and Base Cindel, 1862-1922.  Their marriage produced two children:  Base-Mere Labas, 1927-1941, and Simon-Ber Labas, 1929-1941.


A photo of Base-Mere "Basala" Labas is shown below.  It was taken by the photographer H. Kerbelis, of the "Meras" photography shop located at 27 Vytauto Dydz Street, Kupiskis
