The Deportations

All photos from Amsel, Melody, Between Galicia and Hungary: The Jews of Stropkov, (NJ, 2000) used with permission of author.

The Hlinkas deported Stropkov Jews from March-October 1942.

These transports were sent through Zelina and Poprad, Slovakian concentration points, and on to Sobibor, Maidanek, Auschwitz, work camps, ghettos, and destinations unknown--all in Poland.

The Nazis deported Stropkov Jews to Auschwitz in October 1944.
